THE LETTER PROJECT

SELECTED WORKS

Wordless Writings is an ongoing correspondence project exploring music as a form of conversation, care, and queer community-building. Funded and supported by Canada Council for the Arts Explore & Create grant, seven queer composers exchanged 12 original musical “letters,” over one year, creating an evolving dialogue shaped by friendship, distance, memory, and everyday life. The resulting collection forms an interconnected archive of queer artistic exchange, revealing how musical ideas can communicate emotional nuance beyond words. As the project continues, it expands into collaborative performance, inviting dancers and choreographers to engage with the correspondence and explore movement as a further expression of nonverbal dialogue.
